uldpotentiallypresentanopportunityforimprovingrelationsbetweenChinaandSouthKorea?MoonChung-in:Idoubt.Yes,China-SouthKoreanrelationsarebyandlargeinfluencedbyChina-USrelations.Thus,itisveryimportanttounderstandthenatureanddirectionofAmericanpolitics.If‘anti-Chinaor‘ChinabashingremainsacommonrallyingpointacrosstheDemocratsandRepublicans,China-USrelationswillbecomequiteunstable.Consequently,China-SouthKorearelationswillbenegativelyaffected.EvenifTrumpgetsre-elected,situationisnotlikelytochange.▎TheU.S.Republicanpresidentialprimarydebates:Anti-ChinaasacommonthemeintheirforeignpolicyButiftheoppositionpartywinsthepresidentialelectionafter4years,therecouldbesomechangesinChina-SouthKoreanrelations.RegardlessofChina-USrelations,newgovernmentinSouthKoreamighttrytoimproveitsrelationswithChina.UndertheYoongovernment,however,Idontexpectanybigchanges.
